A MAN has died after a car crashed and burst into flames in a field yesterday – with several others feared injured.
The “serious” single-vehicle crash happened on the A5 in Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire, shortly before 4am on Sunday morning.

Bedfordshire Police confirmed that a man who was “travelling in the car” had died – as cops believe “a number of other casualties” were injured.
The force has since launched Operation Loddon to establish who else was involved.
But police have urged locals not to speculate on their “complex investigation”.

A force spokesperson said yesterday: “We were called at approximately 3.40am this morning to reports of a serious single vehicle traffic collision near the Flying Fox roundabout on the A5.
“Emergency services attended the scene following reports of an alight car in a field near Heath and Reach.”
“We are asking people to avoid speculation in what is a very difficult and complex set of circumstances.
“Anyone with information is asked to contact us on 101 quoting reference Operation Loddon.”
