Who is Shama Amin on The Apprentice?

Shama Amin is a 41-year-old mother of five from Bradford.

Having lived in Bradford for the past 20 years, Shama moved the area with her husband, to pursue a high-flying career in banking.

However, she gave this up to raise her children, but the idea of what her future could hold for her family never left her mind.

After four years at home, she decided to open The Little Academy Day Nursery as a means of inspiring children to achieve their dreams.

The nursery launched in 2014 and is located on Manchester Road, Bradford.

Since its opening, it has welcomed countless children through its doors and has proven to be popular with both parents and children.

Prior to starring in The Apprentice, in 2017, Shama was a finalist for the Bradford ‘Mum of the Year’ awards and was also featured as one of BBC Radio Leeds finalists to become the ‘Voice of Bradford’.

What has Shama Amin said?

Shama describes herself as loyal, determined and outspoken. 

She is adamant that she holds the “skillset that is required to be one of the best, successful businesswomen in the early years sector”.

Shama hopes to inspire during her time on The Apprentice, she reveals: “Being a lady of colour, wearing a headscarf as well, and the challenges that we face on a daily basis, I just want to be a living example for the Asian women and South Asian women out there.”

When is The Apprentice on TV?

The Apprentice makes a return to BBC One on Thursday, January 6 at 9pm.

This will be the first show in two years due to it being off-air because of the Covid pandemic.

Lord Sugar returns in hope of finding his next business partner and giving the winner that all-important £250,000 business injection prize.

He will be appearing once again with Karren Brady and former 2005 winner Tim Campbell.

Campbell will be standing in for Claude Littner, who unfortunately is unable to film the new series due to medical reasons.
