Medium quality picture.Just installed the first camera. Video quality is just OK. The DVR will support 4K playback, but the cameras are not 4K cameras. Based on the video, I’m guessing they are 1080p at best. Also, the cabling is not Category 4 or 5. It has only 2 pairs, which is adequate for the cameras, but certainly not industry standard. They are already terminated, for easy DIY installs, but at 75’, only one was long enough for my needs. So, get ready to buy and terminate your on cables. This system is NOT internet accessible. You can use the app if you’re at home, but nowhere else. Just know that before you purchase.

Not too bad but not greatThe system is works well if you use it with the cameras that it comes with or off the shelf wifi cameras. The problems I ran into is using other POE cams or using the included cams with a POR switch. Also the software is a bit of a nightmare- this is windows 3.1 style – slightly better than Command line input. I can get it to behave consistently with the included 4 cams, but hooking up additionally generic POE cams is a learning process (I am still learning). The passwords mysterious disappear or no longer work. The app itself is painful to use and it is super slow loading the feeds. I did that the NVR crashes when I load the full split screen in the app if I have the full split on my direct display. Also, be careful with the cameras- although the ball socket looks to be metal- it isn’t -It is plastic and cracks with too force. The system is great for someone- who wants to use it for remote alerts via the app, live stream via the direct display and record 7/24 without paying any fees to the cloud.- who only wants to use the included cameras-It’s a quick plug and play.-who wants crisp clear 4K video – it puts most wifi cameras to shame.-who has the ability to run Cat 5 around their house.-who can handle non intuitive software – to find how to turn off the alarms was an exhausting. If you like to tinker and push the envelope- this probably isn’t the right system for you. The NVR is likely underpowered for any expansion. The mouse is really junky and has a super short cable so consider replacing it with a wireless dongle one. The funny thing is for the first few hours I thought it was only a one button mouse and couldn’t figure out how to navigate the menus- it turned out that the right button had been jammed closed.

Great multifunction security cameras; pretty bad appsThis was an upgrade from an EZVIZ system that conked out after a couple years so I’m basing this off of previous experience.CAMERAS: The cameras are excellent-top notch multifunction cameras with 4K resolution, lights, infrared lights, and a speaker. They’re not just cameras, each one is an amazing security system in itself. It comes with a motion detection alarm, which is really annoying but could be beneficial in certain situations where you want the motioning person or critter to be scared. There are sensitivity settings for this and other features. They’re heavy-duty and easy to position and install.SETUP: The setup application on the NVR is pretty awful. It’s like a Windows 10-ish operating system with non-intuitive windows. I guess working only with a mouse (no keyboard) presents its difficulties, but they don’t really nail it. It’s hard to find stuff and the security features are not user friendly. They really need to come up with something for users who don’t have a monitor to hook up to this constantly. They do it with vacuums where you connect the vacuum to the wi-fi then the app and voila, you have it set up. This was very difficult and required swapping my work monitor for the NVR off and on to get it set up straight.APP: Once I was on the app, that was even worse of a user experience. The buttons are not big enough and not always responsive, the buttons are not intuitive, and I somehow got my channels messed up. They also have ads on the app, which is totally cheesy. Is it because it’s a third party? Not sure about that. The app is the one thing EZVIZ did better than this. All in all, it’s a very good system. If you can handle some effort setting it up, this is great. If you want an easy user experience or are not tech or network-savvy, you might want to look elsewhere.
