Installed a little over a year agoI am thankful every day that I turn on a faucet and nice clean water comes out. My husband wanted this system, we just moved into an older home that needed work. We had well water and felt like I was coated in sludge every time we took a shower. This system has been worth every dime. Did we have to makes several trips to the hardware store for different pieces, yes because we did not think the whole thing through before we started putting it together. Is that the companies fault, no. Did we have to replace some of the cheaper filters with in a month, yes because the system was doing it’s job. Have we had to do that since nope just when it’s time which is every 3 months like clockwork. Yes, we pushed it see how the system responded and to see if there was a difference. Yes, two weeks after we normally changed them we felt slimy again. Would I pay the money to up keep the system yes. My husband installed an USMC aircraft mech. Which means anyone can install if you can read and have common sense and it will work.

great customer servicei update my review from 1 to 5 start. i have a slow system and call customer service. they replace with a new system within a week. i learn that the system design for 3500 SF and one story.i install the replaced system and everything works fine.I bought and installed it in Nov 2021. I write the review after 8 months of using it.To be fair, it works; however, very low water pressure. Definitely not 7gmp as advertised. After we installed the system, we noticed the water pressure dropped dramatically. For instance, there is no way 2 people can take showers at the same time. when I flush the toilet, the faucet almost got no water pressure. I looked at comments to learn how to fix them.I performed the following things:1. change brand new Aquasana filters (pre and post-filters). nothing much improved2. I take out both filters. Minor improvement3. I flush the tanks: I run water for about 20 minutes each. Then, I put together everything including filters. I measure it at around 1.5gpm after flushing the tanks.During tank flushing, I notice the water after running through the whole-house tank, it comes out very slow. I measure around 2gpm. On the tank, it said 7gpm.Regarding the softener tank, I measure it around 2.5 to 3gpm. Again, On the tank, it said 7gpm.I email customer support. No one gets back to me yet.

Fantastic water filtrationI wanted to wait awhile before writing this because I wanted to see how the system performed. I did have a my well company install it. It took him much of the day. I know, it seems pretty straight forward but after watching him, I’m glad I had them do it. I will say that this system is designed to be installed indoors hence the system being designed for Plex piping. You can not use this outside because it deteriorates in the sun. I didnt have a place inside for it. so he converted it over to regular PVC which was easy.Buying this system I fully understood what it was for and what it did and what it did not do. I understood this is a water conditioning filter not a water softener (like the traditional salt based water softener). As an earlier reviewer noted, it does bring the hardness of the water down a little bit. You can tell its softer but not a lot and it certainly doesn’t have the slimy feel of the traditional water softener. Our well is in mud hole basically. The water is full of orange iron laced sediment. This system handles it beautifully. While the desolved solids are not removed, the water is restructured in such a way that the build up of lime on the fauchets, toilets and toilet bowl have been slowed down and some cases removed. The water tastes good and the carbon filter of the system polishes the water. It is super clear and delicious. I read one one review that showed dark water in the toilet, The only thing I can think of is when it was installed the carbon filter was not flushed long enough before plumbing it to the house. It did take quite a long time for it to run clear during installation. Longer than the 15 minutes the instructions said. The flow is really good, much better then I expected. Even with the amount of sediment coming out of the well, the prefilter lasted a good couple months before the element needed changed. I did not have to change the post filter at that time.Even though we are on a well, I did not get or want the UV element that is an option. The reason is because I do not feel it is effective for very long. I was a marine aquarist for many years and tried using UV to clean up some tank problems. It worked for about a week until the UV Tube lost its UV output. The tube can appear perfectly fine. It can show that it’s lit, etc but it not killing anything. Thats just my experience. But for someone that needs water treatment and does not want the salt, sliminess and hassle of a traditional water softener, this system is perfect.

Does the jobHad a professional install this. While I was having my water line to the house replaced I went ahead and had them do this. This was more than the young plumbers could handle. They had to call in a senior plumber to do the job but it was easy for him to do and it provided on the job training for the younger guys. It takes up a fair amount of space in my garage, about four feet wide and by the time you give it access space sticking out about a foot and up from the floor about to five feet high. I did not realize how big it was before I purchased it. You need to plan for this amount of space dedicated to it.Mine is set up right beside the shut off valve in my house which is located in my garage and is beside my hot water heater. Before this I had to clean my toilet once a week with a massive ring around it of chemical build up. We also used bottled water for everything – coffee, tea, dog water, drinking water, to cook with. Now we have sparkling dishes, use fresh water for coffee, tea, dog water, plant water, and the toilets no longer have a ring around them and I can get by with cleaning them only as needed. This is saving me $15 a week at Lidl and the toting of those gallon bottles of water every trip. I did not even replace the lines in my house. My bath water used to be a golden color and now it is clear. Can you tell the filter is doing its job?I am very pleased.

Read BEFORE you buy anything from Aquasana. The media could not be loaded.

So many reasons not to buy this system or anything from Aquasana.1. Tried to cancel the order 30 seconds after I purchased it because I forgot to go to my amazon smile page to get a portion donated to charity. The order could not be cancelled. Nor can you return it through amazon. That was the first sign this was going to suck.2. The warranty is void if you install this yourself.3. When flushing the standing filter and conditioner before use I followed the instructions hooked them up to my hose and flushed each for 30 mins solid, then turned the water on for 30secs and off 30secs for 30 mins just to be sure it was clear(lots of ppl complained about the black fine specks appearing in their appliances). When I hooked the system up I had to flush them in my house for another 4 hours and still they kept showing up in my bucket. As of today – 3 weeks after the install they are still showing up in my post sediment filter and I’ve emptied it 5 times now.3. All the connections and threading is plastic. I hooked the system up using plumb thread tape and the pre and post filters leaked. I replaced the brass connections and used 3 wraps with pipe tape, leaks. Replaced the brass and 4, 5, and 6 wraps of tape, leaks. Eventually I bought two 50$ culligan sediment filters (because it was day 3 with no water) to replace the pre and post filters and no leaks. Plastic threads screwed into plastic connections which then screw into more plastic threads…. for 2000$ you’d think it would be made of something more durable or even something that works.4. If you have to drain the system the standing filters hold ALOT of water, I had to change the system so many times because of leaks, tweaks etc I put shutoff valves at each end of them so I could cut the pipes without dealing with massive amounts of water over and over. This systems comes with 3 shut offs, no brass connections or anything else you need to set it up. The gray plastic connectors that fit between the standing filters leak so just throw them out and get more ‘ 3/4” brass to pex ‘ nipple fittings.5. Customer service is a bad joke and Aquasana has a lawsuit against them for selling defective junk.5. Between the pex crimp tool, brass cutter, pex pipe cutter, pex side crimp tool, all the brass connections, pex rings, replacement sediment filters and replacement METAL 90 degree pex sleeves(both the 90 degree plastic bends broke) i spent another $600.The system is installed and working though the water tastes weird. So I have a filtration system I don’t trust at a huge unexpected cost and because I wasn’t willing to pay a licensed professional to install it… I have no warranty.Lastly, somehow my purchased was marked as a gift and so I won’t even show that I am a verified purchase. My pictures are sideways, sorry. I wanted to show a few configurations I tried as I replaced parts and changed the setup. I only have 6’x6’ wall and I needed room for my cats litter box too. I’m adding two more sediment filters one pre and one post because I don’t trust my well or the standing filter. The video shows a test setup that I tried to see if I needed to add more post sediment filters because of the fines and of course I do. Which I will do next paycheck. This review is all over the place, it’s 5am and I had to finish before I curse their name and go to sleep.Final verdict:Aquasana should burn in hell and probably will if they put their own system in their factory.

Did not get the prefilterThe main filter works as expected but I did not get the prefilter that was supposed to come with it.

Expensive but it’s workingI have some mixed feelings about this system. Mainly with the Salt Free Conditioner. When I was getting ready to install this system I had everything sitting in my garage after flushing and while planning what I was going to need. I noticed that the sunlight shining into the somewhat dark garage was shining through the lower Conditioner tank. It’s basically empty. The top small tank contains carbon but nothing in the bigger bottom tank. Aquisana tech support says there are plastic beads down there but I could see the shadow of what little water was left in there after flushing and when I shook the tank it sloshed freely with nothing to dampen it’s movement. That being said, the weight of this unit did match what tech support said it is supposed to weigh so I’m assuming that all is OK. Another thing to be aware of is the fact that the Aquisana label that is attached to these tanks states that the equipment is Made in the U.S.A. but right beside the big label is a small sticker that says Made in China. The Salt Free Conditioner is $700 for a somewhat empty fiberglass tank with some special jetting, a small carbon filled tank and some fittings. Now, all of that is the bad news. The good news is that the system is working well and doing what it’s supposed to do. We have very foul smelling and tasting well water and this system has made it quite pleasant. I would say that over 99% of the taste and odder problem is gone. Our water is still fairly hard but this system does not soften water. I’m also not looking forward to the time when the tanks have to be replaced as they are quite expensive. When installing this system you might want to put in a few extra swivel connectors and isolation valves to make it easier to change filters and tanks. I also have doubts about the warranty when the system is installed by anyone other than a paid professional.

They did not ship all the material.I am glad I bought this system for our well water; however, they did NOT ship all the material. I was missing the UV power cable and only received two-thirds of the pipe connectors. They most likely added the material for the system without the UV kit? I am lucky I had a good plumber friend help me install this as we had to run to the store and buy material and convert the piping to get the system to work. Nothing worse than finally getting the material to purify our water and not receive all the parts.

Easy Install, works great – hope it last a long time – Well WaterI have a well and water has been tested to be quite on the hard side. We do have a small amount of iron but overall the water is quite clean. There was quite a distinct earthy smell in our ice cubes and tap water, after it was left in a bottle for a day. The priority was on a softener system to save our appliances and my wife’s hair. I wanted to add filtration to our house anyways hoping to get rid off that smell and improve overall taste. I wanted a system that is easy to maintain and lasts a while. I installed all of it myself and with some pex piping, this was a simple job. I ordered the $80 kit suggested with this system and it provides everything you need to install. I did not want to spend the extra money on the UV light as I didn’t think it was necessary. I also didn’t want to install a reverse osmosis system as I have learned quite a few bad things about those. They actually filter all of the good minerals out of the water as well. Marketing has come that far that we think NOTHING in the water means CLEANER! But there are lots of good things in the water that I didn’t want to filter out – so no reverse osmosis for me. This Aquasana system is hooked up to the whole house and the outdoor faucets as well. So the well water goes into the pressure tank – then into the water softener (This unit backwashes ever so often and filters the larger sediment as well as softens the water) – then the water goes through the filter. After that it goes into the hot water tank. I did not notice a decrease in pressure and the water is very clean and soft. However, after we “forget” the water in the kids water bottles for a few days, we get a hint of that earthy smell again. The ice cubes and tap water are great – i guess it just comes after a few days. This leads me to believe that there may be some bacteria in the ground (no dangerous ones as I have tested) that probably produce this smell. But overall this was a huge improvement and I am happy that my clothes get washed with clean water, and all appliances get soft water as well. I think this might have been overkill – but at least this should last for 10years.
