With its simple, straightforward design and powerful features, the JET 708115K JWBS-14CS 14-Inch 1 HP Woodworking Bandsaw with Graphite Guide Blocks is ideal for home shop use by serious hobbyists or craftspeople. This handy tool includes a fully enclosed stand and dust chute, requires minimal set-up time out of the box, and provides years of solid, heavy-duty use.
Large Tilting Table and High Resaw Capacity for Flexibility
The JWBS-14CS gives you plenty of space and the necessary capacity to take on a range of projects. It offers a six-inch depth resaw capacity for cutting larger pieces of wood, 6 x 13-1/2-inch cutting capacity, and a generously sized, 15 x 15-inch offset cast-iron table for more work area in front of the blade. The table also tilts 45 degrees to the right and 10 degrees to the left to accommodate a range of materials and jobs.
Cast-Iron Frame and Balanced Wheels for Vibration-Free Operation
Boasting cast-iron frame construction for strength and rigidity, as well as reduced vibration, the JWBS-14CS provides smooth operation for optimum control and consistent results. Precision computer balanced wheels also spin without vibration, ensuring accurate blade tracking.
Heat- and Friction-Reducing Blades for Longer Tool Life
Designed to stand up to years of heavy use, the JWBS-14CS features a micro-adjustable lower blade guide to reduce friction for longer blade life, as well as graphite-impregnated polymer blade guides with roller bearing thrust guides for both quicker set-up and a cooler running blade. By reducing heat, these guides help prevent damage and wear and tear that can compromise the resiliency of the machine.
Durable Metal Housing and Quick-Connect Plug for Durability and Ease-of-Use
The JWBS-14CS boasts heavy-gauge metal housing and a powder coating (rather than paint), which helps the saw hold up to frequent use without chipping or flaking. Another helpful feature is the quick-connect electrical plug, so you don’t have to follow long cords to their outlets before each blade change.
Powerful 1 HP Motor for Fast Results
The JWBS-14CS owes its robust performance to a 1 HP engine that moves the blade at a speedy 3,000 strokes per minute for fast, efficient results. And thanks to the included 3/8-inch, 6.0 TPI woodworking blade, you can start cutting right out of the box.
Safe, User-Friendly Design
Designed to be as user-friendly as it is powerful, this bandsaw comes complete with a four-inch dust port that allows for direct connection of a dust collection system, which is key to keeping your workspace clear so your visibility isn’t impaired by debris. Additionally, a single knob tracking adjustment simplifies the blade tracking process for safe operation.
The JWBS-14CS measures 26 x 68 x 19 inches (WxHxL), weighs 185 pounds, and is backed by a five-year warranty.
About JET: A History of Sharing New, Feature-Rich Products
Opened in 1958 after the founder of the company, Leslie P. Sussman, took the first Boeing Jet Airplane trip from Seattle, Washington to Japan, JET began as a small dealer that sold air hoists and trolleys out of a single hardware store in Seattle. Over the years, JET has carried everything from snowmobiles, transmitter radios, and forklifts to nylon stockings, but by the early 1970s, metalworking had become the base of their business line. And by the 1980s, JET had expanded into the realm of woodworking. So far so goodOnce you take the time to set it up and adjust it correctly (as any real craftspeople would do with their tools) it works great, would be sweet if it came with another blade for either a replacement or harder material. Either would be nice

Fantastic MachineThis saw is my baby. you hear me? I needed a bandsaw, could of went with a smaller one, but thought I might have need of the bigger one someday, so I bought this one. Works like a dream, adjusts so easily and the blade runs truer that I would have thought possible. All in all, I love it.My boys want to know who gets it when I pass on, I said no one will, cause I will be buried with it clutched in both hands!

New to WoodworkingThis is my first bandsaw. I purchased it on the basis of the JET name for quality. I also purchased the HTC mobile base. I use my garage for my shop, so a mobile base is a necessity. They all arrived by truck. The trucking company called ahead and scheduled a day to deliver which was very helpful. I definitely would recommend having a second person available to help with the lifting of the saw onto the base and with the tensioning of the drive belt. There are four bolts that hold the motor that must be loosened to move the motor. It is almost impossible to hold the motor tight and tighten the bolts back up once the motor is in the proper position. I was disappointed the saw came without a fence or miter gage and that no accessories are listed as being avaiable in the materials contained with the saw. The adjusting of the saw blade was straight forward, but the guides under the table were not easy to see or adjust without removing the table. It probably took about five hours to set it all up, but I am looking forward to many hours of use wih this essential tool for my shop.

Great bandsaw for the moneyI purchased this saw about a year ago and though I don’t use it for every project it does get considerable use. I run a small custom furniture and cabinet shop and rely on quality equipment to get the job done. The Jet perofrms very well and I have no complaints. The only issue that I had was that the enclosed stand was dented from shipping. The motor was also installed in the stand and due to the rough handling in shipping it caused the motor mounts to become bent and misaligned. After some minor repair and staightening I had it up and running in no time.I complained to Jet directly about the shipping damage so that they would perhaps correct their method of packaging. To my suprise and without asking they shipped me not only a new stand but also a new motor via Fedex 2-day. I now have not only a quality piece of equip. but spare parts in the event I ever need them in the future. The have superb customer service and I’m very satisfied with my purchase after using it for a year. I have no doubt that this saw will give me many years of service and I would recommend Jet to anyone.

Good saw at a great priceBought this saw on Black Friday at a price well below what I had seen before. It shipped quickly and was easy to assemble. All went smoothly until I tried to turn it on – and nothing happened. I assumed I must have fouled something up and reinspected all the wiring. I was afriad it had been set up for 220V current, but that was not the case. After some trial and error I localized the problem to the switch. After a quick call to customer service a replacement part was on the way. It arrived the next day and once installed the saw started up fine. As this was my first bandsaw it took a bit of tuning for me to have it running right, but after setup I put it to work building a couple projects. It did a fine job resawing 6 inch maple, walnut, and lacewood stock. Also did a fine job with some delicate curve cutting for a jewelry box I made. Overall I am very happy with the purchase – I just wish it would have actually worked right out of the box. Nevertheless, the quick response from customer service mostly made up for that.

Good valueShipping was faster than anticipated. Got a coordination call from FedEx heavy delivery to be home when it arrived–appreciated that. Came in two boxes, mostly in good shape except for the one containing the stand, which had a slight ding but no paint damage. Assembly was straightforward and quick with exceptionally well designed instructions. Blade and other adjustments were easy. Operation is quiet, particularly with the enclosed stand. Overall quality is excellent, and I’m comparing this with my dad’s old Boice-Crane that he’s had for 40 years. A very nice machine, easy to use, has plenty of power for all manner of cuts including heavier things like 4×4’s with no sweat. Looks to me to be slightly better finish and quality than Delta, but certainly in the same ballpark. Based on my experience with this saw, I’m planning to get a Jet sander and maybe a drill press after this.Update October 2018: 16 years later, completely happy with this machine. Have replaced blade (obviously) a few times and the ātiresā once.May 2022: flawless operation for 20 years now. One mod: I replaced the knob for adjusting blade tension with a 4ā hand wheel with rotating handle. Clearance with upper housing is fine. Makes an otherwise slow, tedious, laborious operation quick and easy.

Jet Rebate won me overI sat on the Delta/Jet fence for nearly 2 months before committing to this purchase (I got the Jet 14″ Drill Press too). I think that the Delta and Jet are very comparable and side by side there isn’t much difference. I am very pleased with my bandsaw, especially the fence and table (that feature deserves its own close up picture on the website). I am planning on a few upgrades such as: Carter guides, mobile base by ???, and a better blade. I had my tool in a matter of days and it arrived in great condition.Aside on the Bandsaw:For me, the bandsaw is the unsung shop hero. The tablesaw gets all the attention and is the star quarterback, but the bandsaw is like a great wide-receiver that scores all the touchdowns and stays with the ball. I go to the bandsaw to make cuts that can’t be done anywhere else. The bandsaw isn’t making the long rip/cross cuts or dadoes, but if you are serious about furniture/cabinet construction, you can’t survive long without a good bandsaw.

Good sawThis is a good bandsaw. I bought the blocks to do some resawing, which is a necessity if you plan to resaw. However, this saw did struggle resawing an 8″ (approx) piece of walnut. I would say that if that is your primary intention (it isn’t mine), I would look into a different saw. I added the Kreg fence. It’s a nice addition and does the job well.

Great saw but not so good dust collectionI upgraded to the Jet from a 12″ Craftsman and there is a HUGE difference in quality! I love this saw with the exception of the dust collection. The dust collection port is not on the front of the machine as pictured and it is a 4″ port instead of the pictured smaller port. Not a huge deal there but the fact that dust comes out of the machine all over the place. I plan to try to shore this up with some foam tubing to see of it helps.
