Beautiful AdditionWe picked this sink during a makeover due to the self-trimming feature and it is perfect! We did no cutting on the cabinets and fit perfectly above the bottom doors. I fit will say if you are installing granite with a Moen industrial type faucet, do not use the template that comes with the sink. Or at the very least make sure you get cutout dimensions correct. Our granite installers did not want the spec sheet for the faucet, soap dispenser or glasswasher only the Kolher cutout. The faucet and soap dispenser distance over the sink turned out fine. The soap dispenser could have been a little further over the sink. The glasswasher is not even close! Our work around was to install a sheet of silicone under the lip. The sink is very sturdy and heavy. It sits a little lower or deeper in the cabinet. This is not a problem at all. I get asked if I have to bend over more to do the dishes and no, I do not. I have not put any “sink protectors” in the bottom and so far no problems with pans scaring. The only issue if you can call it that is splashing water and the smaller side of the sink. The splashing may be due to the new industrial faucet. The smaller side, I am not used to. I had a Moen double bowl sink previously and I used the right side for garbage disposal use. I have the garbage disposal on this small side now and it is smaller, making it challenging. Neither one of these are a show stopper and very please with this sink. Would buy it again.

Expect a wavy lookNot conveyed in any Kohler website but if you do the research among hundreds of reviews, most of Kohlers cast iron products are coming with a very wavy surface. Many replacements are the same. Expect it or do not buy if you cannot except this effect. Kohler does not put this on there due to an obvious change in process or chemistry. Beware !

Well made, feels like it will last foreverWonderful look and very well constructed. These are made in an American foundry which is respectable. Instructions and cut out templates were very well done. Can be done DIY, but requires knowledge of carpentry and plumbing. I was quoted $400 for install, but I did it myself for $30.This sink will fit any well constructed 36″ cabinet. I do not see it being supported by Ikea-type cabinets. Under sink supports are absolutely necessary. 150lb sink with the capacity to hold 150lbs of water necessitates it. I cut 2″x4″ boards and supported the sink on the side rims. The front apron height is made for most new 36″ cabinets. The bottom doors will be unaffected but the drawer/false drawer top will need to be cut out. It’s self-finishing meaning you just have to rough cut the template. I replaced a top mount stainless sink. This sink is deeper than standard sinks and it’s made for undermount. This necessitates plumbing modifications. This is not the same sink that you’ll find at the big box retailers. I actually looked at a Kohler cast iron sink one of the stores. It was substantially lighter and appeared to be thinner. It made a different sound when tapped. Just be aware that they’re not the same.It is extremely heavy, requiring 2 strong men. I tried using a couple regular drains when finishing installation and they were too small for the openings. I ended up having to purchase the Kohler drain assemblies because they were thicker.

Great sinkThis sink is fantastic looking. It installed easily (likely due to the correct cabinet layout) that allowed for some play on the sides and back. After levelling, the granite was installed and the drains went in nice and easy.So far has worked out great. The shallowness makes cleaning in the sink much easier on the back for taller folks like myself. We purchased the accesory metal racks that sit on the bottom of the sink to protect it…would recommend that to others.Couple of install notes:- This sink is HEAVY (cast iron) so make sure the cabinet you are installing it into is braced thoroughly.- Again due to the weight, assume you will need two people to place it safely. I dropped it in by myself but it was a bit dicey since the width made it hard to grab.- make sure the drain piping will work with the dropped nature of the sink. We replaced a stainless undermout and the drains on this were a bit lower. Here is a picture of the install:https://www.flickr.com/photos/ccyr15/14144992196/in/set-72157641456446673Here is a picture of the levelling using shims:https://www.flickr.com/photos/ccyr15/14168156465/in/set-72157641456446673/Here is a final:https://www.flickr.com/photos/ccyr15/14548443633/

FlawedI would love to give this sink a 5 star review but it had a mar on the front. It looked like a bubble formed in the porcelain when it was applied and popped leaving a bump with a hole the size of a pinhead. With the weight of the sink and the time frame where I would have no kitchen sink it makes returning it a pain. The porcelain also has a lumpy quality to it that you can see and feel.I weighed my options and decided that the mar is at the curve at the bottom of the apron so that the average adult does not notice it and the waviness of the porcelain goes with my 1922 house so it seemed more practical to keep it than pack up the beast to return and be without a sink. I do wish there had been better quality control before it went out. It’s a little frustrating knowing I paid over a $1000 for something that has a flaw. All that being said, the sink is beautiful. My husband and I who are amateur diy’ers where able to install it in an average 36″ sink base with no problems. Had it not been for the flaw it would have been 5 stars.I attached pics of the hole and the waviness. The waviness is hard to see with the reflection on the sink.

Love this sinkThis is a beautiful farm sink and looks marvelous in our newly renovated kitchen. We previously had a Kohler double bowl sink and this is much nicer. It is very wide and the divider is lower than our previous sink so you can put many large items in it for soaking, etc. It’s very heavy and we had a plumbing company install it because it requires 2 strong men to lift, carry and position it properly. Our other Kohler cast iron sink was 20 years old so I’m sure we’ll get many years of use out of this one too. It is well worth the price.

Brings the kitchen look together. We get so many compliments on our new kitchen sink. It’s super deep and very big. I gave it 4 stars because we didn’t realize until install that a standard drain piece doesn’t fit and will leak. You have to buy Koehler drains. They seem to have a curvature. Save yourself the headache we had and just buy them to begin with!

Great quality3 months in and I’m loving this sink. We thought it would be too big when we saw the box come in, but once it was actually installed, it looked just right. The quality of it is very good. It’s a thick porcelain over steel build, and the divider in the middle is what sold us over other basin models. We’ve got the garbage disposal on the right and the main sink drain on the left and it’s working great.

Cottage sink with great custom dividerLove our sink, have yet to install it in our new build, but the delivery was excellent. They texted me to be there and brought this heavy beast into my garage. Packaged extremely well. Picked this sink for the low divider that allows for big pans to be washed but also the ability to have two sink compartment and it’s not as low of a sink basin that will kill my back when washing dishes.
