This Portable Winch is a DC 48V 550W 12A All-Electric System, powered by one 2Ah, 4Ah, or 5Ah Rechargeable Li-Ion Battery. Max Weight Load Capacity for- Pulling: 1000LBS / 455kgs. Vertical Lift: 20Ft, at a Max Speed of 5.5Ft per minute. Integrated 2-Speed Clutch for Forward & Reverse Applications. ZERO Cooldown capabilities, eliminating duty cycles & allows the Clutch Knob to Lock in place to suspend weight vertically for extended periods of time.
Integrated Brushless Motor utilizing Sealed Steel planetary gears, to produce higher transmission efficiency at lower amperages. Includes 20’Ft / 6m of High-Strength Aerospace-Grade Galvanized Steel: Wire Cable & (2) safe, reliable, wear-resistant Hooks on both sides for easy installation. Our Dynamic Brake & Mechanical Friction Brake System has a Working Capacity of: 3,000 lbs. Rolling; 2,500 lbs. Marine; 1,000 lbs. Pulling/Vertical Lift & Max boat weight: 2,500 lbs.
Li-Ion technology provides: Fast charge times & versatile climate viability, high load power outputs, long cycle & shelf life. Lots of power in a small package!I was sold on the duty cycle compared to other units in the market this unit has no cool down period. Most units in the market have to cool down for an hour after 5 minutes of use (look up duty cycle).This winch is a workhorse. I have used it to pull trees and material uphill. My ONLY complaint about this little machine is that is is very Very VERY SSSSSSSLLLLLOOOOOWWWWWW. For long distances, this might not be suitable. In my case, I can only pull 20 feet a time, at a pace of about 2 feet per minute (estimated). Once I have finished pulling a 20 foot distance, I have to break down the entire set up, anchor another 20 feet out, pull the slack, and get to winching. Moving about 100 feet can take an hour up hill. But the single 2.5 ah battery can handle all that winching.A little tip I will share for releasing the clutch. Sometimes the clutch won’t release the winch even though the clutch release is manually set to disengage. When it gets stuck, gently tap the winch on the ground and 9 times out of 10, the clutch will release.Perhaps the capstan model is more applicable in my case.

unbalancedThis is a heavy winch, and the motor, cable etc is not balanced. Very hard to hold and press the safety and trigger. Takes two hands.Compared to an older model of battery winch, this one consumes the battery pretty quickly

Other ReviewsI would agree with most of the other reviews. For us we didn’t need a lot of travel and I was ok with the slow movement. It saves someone from hurting themselves by trying to move more weight than is safe.

Reliable, Workhorse!We purchased this unit to assist in getting our horse carriage into the trailer. With both power in and power out functions, this Landworks winch has literally saved us tons of back-breaking work. It’s retrieval speed is sufficient to allow for ease of pulling the carriage into the trailer and ease of letting it slowly out. I highly recommend this unit.

Absolutely great for trailer loadingAwesome cordless winch for loading trailers, or as a overhead crane. Pull speed seems pretty close to advertised free spinning. Not sure if it is good for max rating, but it was strong enough to load a 1500lb buggy onto a trailer unassisted and helped a 4 ton truck out of sand. Great accessory to take on an off roading trip for those off-angle winching needs.

Strong pull – cannot be loaded off angle at all.Seemed to have a strong pull, I only used it once to pull a small bush and it was able to pull it out with ease. If at any angle the anchor hook bracket started to bend so you must load straight. The other problem I had was the clutch brake did not release so it had to be extended using the motor and that took forever. I ultimately returned the unit due to the brake failure issue.

Good winch for when you don’t have power.I’ve only used mine a couple of times, however, it works great! Very slow but effective. Battery life seems to be sufficient for multiple uses between charges.
