Description
The 36V (18V X2) LXT® Brushless 10” Pole Saw (XAU01ZB) is a welcome solution for a range of trimming and cutting applications. With zero emissions, lower noise and maximum versatility, the pole saw delivers maximum performance and run time without the hassles of gas and without leaving the 18V LXT battery platform. The pole saw’s shaft is 8-feet in length for efficient pruning of branches. The brushless motor delivers power of a 30cc gas pole saw to handle commercial-duty applications. The XAU01ZB also offers a 20% faster cutting speed than a 31.4cc gas engine pole saw. Torque boost mode helps power through thick or hard branches. The pole saw can make up to 140 cuts in 4×4 cedar with two 18V LXT 5.0Ah Batteries. Other features include a branch hook, translucent bar oil tank with large opening, and Extreme Protection Technology (XPT™). XPT is a protective seal inside the tool, engineered for improved operation in harsh conditions by channeling water and dust from key internal components. It’s part of Makita’s expanding 18V LXT System, the world’s largest cordless tool system powered by 18V lithium-ion slide-style batteries. Makita® 18V LXT Lithium-Ion Batteries have the fastest charge times in their categories, so they spend more time working and less time sitting on the charger. For improved tool performance and extended battery life, Makita created Star Protection Computer Controls™. Star Protection is communication technology that allows the Star Protection-equipped tool and battery to exchange data in real time and monitor conditions during use to protect against overloading, over-discharging and overheating. For increased versatility, the tool can also be powered by Makita 18V LXT Lithium-Ion Batteries with the star symbol on the battery indicating Star Protection inside.

It deliveredThis puppy practically replaced my 16in chainsaw. That one only comes out for real trees. For stuff up to 7in this one gets the job done. As with almost all battery powered saws you need to get it going before chewing the tree. The overpowered function is cool but it takes a toll on batteries. The 4a are the bare minimum for my use, 6’s or 5’s are the way to go. All in all great tool, great performance. Very satisfied. Another great addition to my collection.

Amazing – More powerful than I expectedI love this thing. I goes through wood like butter. My regular chain saw is a Stihl MS290, so my expectations are pretty lofty. Besides being powerful, battery life is longer than I any project I have tackled with it so far.

great productWe use this quite often for removing limbs overhanging the road, when boondocking. Very handy tool and I would buy it again.

Worth its cost even if works onceI basically did easily 500$ worth of trimming relatively large branches if a tree service came to do it. This thing is wicked. I think better than a regular chainsaw because its way less dangerous if branches fall wrong.

Powerful and lightweight. Shorter reach than old gas pruner but it starts when I need it.Did a lot of tree trimming all day, some limbs up to 3” diameter oak. Batteries lasted all day. Chain never came off. Nice size chain oiler tank. Makita makes good stuff. I love how their batteries work on all my Makita tools. Sometimes what the engineers don’t do is just as important as what they do. They haven’t fiddled with the battery design in a way that would prevent compatibility across their tools. The old gas power pruner that it replaces was longer, but was terribly heavy and would not run for very long between trips to the shop. You can get new carburetors but they don’t last long for some reason. So very happy to say goodbye to one more gas engine tool!

Doesn’t work like the standard Mikita battery chainsaw which is excellent.Lack of power. The videos are a bad joke. An electric chainsaw has more juice. The standard Mikita chainsaw is excellent. What happened there is no power at the point of attack

Works like a beast! This bad boy cuts extremely well and the double batteries last forever!I’m happy I purchased this but the price is pretty high considering it’s lack of features (no extensions or blade angle adjustments). Worth getting if you’re a makita die hard like myself, but if brand doesn’t matter you’re better off shopping around.
