Well done, Minnkota! An impressive piece of engineeringI self-installed this motor on an 18″ fiberglass center console used in both fresh- and salt-water. The process was straightforward. Instructions are clear, and well laid out. Also the fonts sizes used are READABLE, even for old guys like me.The remote control works perfectly, and Autopilot and Spot Lock both work as advertised, although I have not had a chance to try the features in winds over 7 mph. I think Autopilot and Spot Lock are really quite amazing. It’s actually sort of fun watch the motor decide what to do and when (turn, reverse, speed up and down, etc.). I have the remote foot pedal control, but have not tried it yet.The 72″ shaft looks like it will also work out well. At first I thought it was going to be too long, but in the ocean waters where I fish, having the extra length will allow me to fish in the back of the boat without worrying about the motor cavitating in rough water. I think I will wind up installing a support arm to keep the control head from bouncing around when the motor is stowed and I’m running in rough water, even though several friends have said that it’s not needed. The motor is a typical Minnkota: well-designed, and it appears to be very durably constructed. It is replacing a Minnkota Riptide RT80/T, which I have used for 6 years in salt water, and it looks pretty much like it did out of the box. I look forward to similar performance from this motor.

This motor is a game changer if you are at all serious about fishing!Spot lock feature works perfectly in the ocean fishing over wrecks and reefs. The feature set on these motors is awesome and well worth the price of admission.

Nothing good to say!Yes, the motor works, sometimes. This remote issue I’ve read about on the net is real, and mine has done the same. Hundreds of complaints about this products operation. Look at a few fishing forums. But, what’s worse is the customer service. They expect the dealers to provide all care. Not realistic. Then try to call them – only business hours east coast I think. They’re website is inaccurate (provide lanyard, don’t provide lanyard in same statement), difficult to navigate, and every question you ask will likely land you back at something they want to sell, not the answer you’re looking for.

Not the item picturedThis item is NOT as pictured. This comes with the ipilot remote and NOT the ipilot “LINK” remote, which is more expensive. If you are planning to purchase this item to get the “LINK” system, plan on returning it. Still a fair price for the motor, but don’t be decieved.
