No RegretsThis is my first review. There are a lot of complaints about this fan so wanted to give my $0.02. Bought 72″ fan for country house. It was a big splurge, but I like windmills and really like the fan. I put it up on an 18′ ceiling with a 6′ down rod. That was very difficult. It works great. I suspect that some of the negative reviews come from the fact that the fan has electronics in it that do not immediately respond to remote or wall mounted controls. I thought my unit did not work. Being the impatient type, I turned the breaker off and did a lot of trouble shooting before I accidentally just waited long enough. Then it started to turn. At first back and forth. Slow then fast. Then it settled in and just works. There is still a small delay when I push the button. It also says in the instructions that the fan will not reverse unless you hit the button while it is running. That is counterintuitive, but it is true. Reverse mode works well. Finally, my unit was shipped with a remote but advertised that it came with a wall mount control. I contacted the seller through Amazon and got the wall control within 2 days. That is pretty responsive service and it made me happy. There is an assembly video on U tube. With >100 screws to assemble, it is a bear. But by being patient and careful, following the instructions, and having some aptitude, it came out perfectly balanced, no wobble, and almost completely silent. I was impressed with the precision and engineering of the parts and how they fit together to make the whole. The air movement will not blow you away, but I don’t like ceiling fans on that speed anyway. I can feel a breeze (slight) sitting under it with it still about 12 over my head. Very satisfied.Summary:Unless you like the looks and like windmills, it is not worth the price. There are other fans.If you don’t like putting things together or don’t have someone to do it for you, do not buy.If you need a stiff breeze that will turn the pages on your book while reading below it, not for you.I think any 72 inch fan would be difficult to hang, so that is not a reason one way or the other.None of the negatives are problems for me. I really like the fan.

Fingers Crossed /six month updateNow having enjoyed six months of use, I simply love this thing. Can’t beat the looks, moves much more air than it appears (never use top speed/in Houston) super quiet/silent and thus far reliable/dependable!!Excellent purchase overall.I was very apprehensive and took a gamble given the mixed reviews on this fan but am building a “modern farmhouse” and aesthetically, this fan fits that bill to a T.I had two electricians install. Once hung, nothing. It wouldn’t move/go…. As they we’re trying to figure out why (I didn’t share the review history) I looked in my Amazon account to see if the return date window had lapsed, and it had. Yesterday!I asked them if we could circumvent the remote and just run it off a wall switch as power to the motor was “hot”. In the process of doing that my electrician redid the wiring harness, actually had to change the feed of a couple of wires (scary), and wa-la, it works and works with the remote!Like others have mentioned high speed seems a bit slow, but unlike many, I find it to move ample amounts of air. I think that has as much to do with size of fan vs size of room and distance from floor to fan.Anyway, after just two hours of use assessment; looks GREAT, works absolutely fine (now)Fingers crossed as to longevity!

Beautiful Fan Wish it Worked or Someone Would Respond to Me About How to Get It FixI rarely review anything, but this time I am compelled to write a review/complaint because I have $1200.00 worth of fan and fan parts that are worthless and don’t work. I have many complaints so bare w/me. We purchased the Windmill 97215-86 72” Ceiling fan end of April 2019.When we made the order, we were living in a travel trailer on our property as our house was demolished; added onto and rebuilt.First :I was very happy the fan came boxed very snugly, and securely and the package was delivered undamaged and in a timely manner. With the purchase of the fan I also purchased the light kit. Prior to placing the order I asked if the fan was light kit ready and was told “Yes, yes it is”. They were even kind enough to tell me which kit to order. When the electrician went to attach the light, he realized there wasn’t any parts or pieces that would marry the fan with the light. (Basically., no Thingy MaJig to hold the light kit to the base of the fan)Second:Again, the fan was installed July 2019 and it stopped working less than 2 months later. I don’t know the exact date of death on the fan, but I do know it died around the first week of September 2019. I sent emails to Amazon and to this company and haven’t heard back from anyone telling me what to do.Even with all of these issues I highly recommend the Windmill fan if you’re looking for the perfect finishing touch for your living area or covered patio. I believe this is just a one time unlucky issue. We ordered $5,000.00 worth of lighting/fixtures on Amazon and the Windmill was the only light/fixture we had any problem with. Of course it had to be the most expensive fixture we purchased.Because we are the proud owners of an Extremely Beautiful and Extremely Expensive Assed, Dust Catching, NON-WORKING ceiling fan and no resolution in sight I can only give it 1 Star. If there were negative stars I would click that.I will gladly change my rating if someone will call, text or email me on what I need to do about getting this thing fixed. I bought the extended warranty, but was told by someone at the sellers business or Amazon that you are supposed to use the manufacturer 1yr Warranty

Seller was helpful! Fan not installed yet!I ordered the fan that then went on sale within 2 weeks of ordering. It is still in the process of getting installed. It turns out you cannot have more than a 20 degree slope with install. We have a sloped ceiling… So we have to configure some sort of platform to attach it too… We also needed to purchase several layers of scaffolding…We will let you know how the install goes and how long the fan lasts!

Not worth the priceThis fan is beautiful and we get compliments from everyone. We had the same issues that others had mentioned in other reviews but I was hoping that wouldn’t be the case. The remote doesn’t always work. On high setting you can’t feel air movement like you might be use to with other fans. It does move the hair but does not do it very fast. Getting the fan to go in the opposite direction is always a hassle. We have 12ft ceilings and had to drop it 24inches to get some more movement of air. Overall I would not spend this much money just for looks and not the functionality. If you are okay with that then this is your fan as it is unique and beautiful!

PRETTY BUT NO THANKS!!We purchased 2 of these fans and really loved the look and wanted them to work out. For the price one would hope so. The Amazon Services technician came out to install (he was very helpful and professional) and it took him 3 hours to install the fan with the help of my husband. The fan has 6 speeds and about 15 blades. The issue is that we live in TEXAS and it gets very HOT here! The fan does not go very fast (allegedly due to its many blades) so you do not feel a significant output of wind. (What I am saying is there is NO AIR BLOWING). Once you stand there a few minutes you realize this is – YOU are NOT going to feel anything because it moves too slow. We put the fan on Speed #6 (the highest speed) and waited and it was like a regular fan on the lowest speed. Even the installer said he would return it. He said there are better fans for less than $300 in big box stores that produce real air production. All of the comments we read were about how beautiful the fan was and it was a showpiece for the room. They are correct about its beauty. The fan is stunning. But if you really want a fan to WORK and we did we were very disappointed. The good news is that the company was easy to work with on the UN-install and return and they were super nice people but this fan is for looks only. We actually saw this fan in a big specialty fan and lighting store first before buying it on Amazon. they turned it on in the store but the issue was there were about 25 other fans around it all blowing at the same time (it was a FAN store-duh) so we assumed the wind production/output to be much greater than it really was. It also took 3 hours to take the fan down but that included putting it back in the box wrapped in plastic to return. MAN I was bummed because i really wanted to love it but for $1100 there was no way I could justify the cost for a pretty ceiling ornament.

No instructions or screws!!Fan arrived earlier than expected. Some damage to the box, pulled flaps and torn corner. There were no installation instructions or screws. Just a box of expensive parts without the screws.Update: contacted the manufacturer and they sent out the missing parts no problem. Installed the fan with help of videos. Fan looks great.
