If you managed to assemble the saw, this is easyWhile I suppose it might be easier to assemble this prior to finishing the saw I bought it afterwards and while it had some minor challenges, it wasn’t bad at all.The Mobile Base is well designed and well built. It makes moving the saw around an effortless process. Well worth the time and effort along with the in my opinion reasonable price.

Buy this to install while you are building your saw… Not After!Yikes…Let me start by saying that I love SawStop. I think that their prices are a little exorbitant, but I love the brand and the quality that you get with their products (not to mention the protection). However, this particular product doesn’t meet the same standards in my opinion…Basically, you should buy this and install this before you actually mount the saw on the base. It will alleviate a ridiculous amount frustration and pain/suffering… So, don’t be cheap like me and wait until later to purchase this addition. Just factor it into the cost of the saw and go ahead and get it so that you can install while you are building the base… It will make things 1,000 times easier…If you are like me and you are installing it after you already have the saw built, get ready for some awesome pain! You will be laying on the ground trying to force things together until you are blue in the face and suffering from a fresh new hernia that your doctor will be more than pleased to charge you to treat! Pretty much the only advice that I have is to CAREFULLY dismantle the lower parts of the base so that you can allow the legs to spread enough to jam this base in and mount it successfully. Then, re-install the bolts in the base to sure everything up again once you are done. I really don’t love this idea since you are going to be sacrificing the integrity of the base that your extremely expensive table saw is resting on, also you could die… but it’s pretty much the only way…As for the price, $200 is about twice as much as you should pay for this thing (which means that it’s priced correctly for SawStop). Once installed, it does function fairly well. I have a smooth floor in my shop with no seams, so I can now roll my saw wherever my little heart desires without much trouble. I also like that the release doesn’t allow the saw to slam to the ground like some other brands do. Instead, it releases the tension and your foot is still in place to lower the saw gently to the ground. So, what’s the final word?Buy this when you first get your saw! If not, be ready to get slapped across the face with a cold fish full of back pain and stress induced intestinal distress…

Great add to contractor sawI highly recommend it, as I tried at the beginning adding different types of wheels, but it did not perform as required. Finally, I decided to buy it, and I did not regret this decision, as it is easy to install as well as its performance, as I can easily move the table saw to any place inside the workshop.

Well-built and essential upgrade for the contractor sawThis mobile base exceeded my expectations. It is very solidly built and operates smoothly, lifting the entire table saw and extension table off the ground and allowing for easy repositioning. If you have a small shop space, this is an absolutely essential upgrade. I for one HAVE to reposition my saw before I can rip sheetgoods.Assembly was easy and once lifted, the saw rolls with a smooth action. The nicely sized casters make it over the seams in my concrete floor just fine. When released, the saw sits entirely on its original legs. The lifting pedal is thoughtfully placed on the left, where it’s out of the way during saw operation, and not trapped underneath the extension table.Note that if you have added an out-feed table, you may experience issues. A warning flyer in the box states that the out-feed table will not be properly lifted by this mobile base and might get damaged. I simply out-feed onto a freestanding table so this is not an issue for me at all.

Mobile base superior fit/finish – typical of SawStop! This last week I installed two mobile bases on different saws in my shop. For my Jet Bandsaw, a universal Jet Mobile base, it installed quickly, was tool-free, but didn’t perfectly fit the saw. It is, however, completely functional and the looks are acceptable. The SawStop mobile base took tools to install, however, if you’ve already assembled your Sawstop tablesaw, you know the quality of the parts packing, and what to expect regarding the ease of instruction. They truly have a superior quality product – and the mobile base is no exception to that rule. 20 minutes to install, everything fit perfectly, instructions were simple to follow, no missing parts or pieces. Now I can scoot the saw around with ease, and when the wheels are retracted the saw is once again completely on the ground on its legs (which my band saw is not and doesn’t feel as stable).Great design, if you’re on the fence about some generic version vs the SawStop version – get the SawStop version, you’ll never regret it, your saw will retain its factory look, and any concern about longevity or quality will fly out the door when you open your box and see the components.

works greatI have a small shop and should have bought this when I bought the saw, however, it was easy to install with great instructions and has served me well

Looks great, works Great and very easy to installLooks great, works Great and very easy to install. It took about 30 minutes from start to finish, could be done quicker but took my time. I like the ability to maneuver my heavy table saw around the shop now with easy.

I’ve used aftermarket mobile tool bases before, but this …I’ve used aftermarket mobile tool bases before, but this SawStop mobile base surpasses them all. Very well engineered, and the materials are more than up to the job. The steel is approx. double the gauge of what I’m used to, and the pedal design engages and releases perfectly. Thanks, SawStop!

Must haveOriginally didn’t want my saw to be mobile. But it really helps for cleaning around the shop or making room for other projects.

Must have for sawstop contractor saw.It you get the contractor saw this base is a must have. With out this base it would be near impossible to move this saw. Make sure that you put this on before you get the saw fully assembled. This is a really well built base, and highly recommend it.
