Fluorescent Lamp ReplacementI purchased these LED lamps to upgrade old fluorescent lamp fixtures (with ballasts). I removed the ballasts in the fixtures and rewired the sockets as described in the instructions. The process was simple, easy and quick. I installed the new lamps and energized the fixtures. I was impressed at the amount of light that they produced compared with the original fluorescent lamps. Be aware the LED lamp color temperature is 6000K so expect a cool blue illumination.

1 damagedordered 4-pack and 1 was non-functional. They couldn’t send me a replacement since they can’t just send 1 and these go by pair. So that’s what i have to live with. Other than that, it’s an easy installation.

Get ready to wear sunglassesI bought these T8 LED bulbs to replace some expiring fluorescent bulbs in a Master bedroom closet (or do I say Primary bedroom closet… Egads)These new bulbs involve some minor rewiring to the fixture, because you need to bypass the existing ballast (transformer) in the fixture that energized the old fluorescents. Wouldn’t hurt to know what you are doing here… Lot’s of on-line videos available to show you how. So if you are capable of snipping some wires go for it… otherwise find a fix-it-friend.After your pass the rewiring effort… snap these new T8’s in place.Let there be light is an understatement ! Light output seems like double compared to the fluorescents I replaced. The wife is very happy too… Happy wife, happy life.

Easy Ballast Removal & LED Light Install – 40% More Lumens vs. Prior 4′ FluorescentEasy to Follow Instructions for Ballast Removal & Rewire – 40% Higher Lumens than my prior 4′ Fluorescent Tubes. Only downside was lack of a sticker for the ballast cover to alert that future bulb replacements should not be fluorescent bulbs or any other bulb that requires a ballast. [Other LED tube manufacturers DO include a sticker, and it can’t cost that much.]

Pretty amazing transformation, illumination!!First of all, the Packaging was super heavy duty cardboard that I’ve never seen, no seam, with open cell foam pads on each end plus card stock. Removing individual card stock packed tubes, plus instructions, I stood on the outer box empty, won’t bend or crush. After disecting a new fixture with pull switch and reading intstructions, I made quick work of this conversion. My wood shop is crazy bright now. I think in my garage/workshop I will tone it down a bit and get a lower wattage/frosted ones from this company. High quality!

Very bright in my garage. Much brighter than the flourescent bulbs that they replaced.Easy install and bypassed the ballast. Would recommend for garage or workshop area.

Incredibly bright, good luck listening to your radio.I have a 36 by 40 foot workshop. The lighting is 4 fluorescent fixtures about 12 feet above the shop floor. Each fixture has four tubes four feet each. That is a total of 16 tubes. These tubes have never lit my workshop enough. I bought these SHOPLED tubes since they were the brightest I could find. I wanted ballast bypass bulbs since they are more efficient and bypassing the ballast is not that difficult. The installation was not that difficult. See the pictures I have included with this review. My fixtures are 8 feet long and have 4 tubes each. The old bulbs are removed and the access panel is removed. You can see that the yellow wire goes to the two tombstones on each end of the fixture. The middle 4 tombstones have red and blue wires. You only need to bypass the ballast, but I decided to remove mine. I chose to wire the black (hot) wire to the red and blue tombstones and wire the neutral to the yellow on each end of the fixture. See the pictures, it is pretty straightforward. Just wire a hot to one end of each tube and neutral to the other. Make sure you use the correct size wire nuts.Overall, initially I am pleased with these tubes. All 25 tubes that I have purchased work correctly. The main issue is that when the tubes are operating they generate enough RF interference to cause static on the radio stations I listen to. With better engineering, this interference should be able to be eliminated. I rated it 4 stars instead of 5 due to this issue. It is too soon to tell how long these tubes will last, but I will update this review down the line when I know more.

Bright and easyEasy to convert. Very bright. Overall very happy. I’ve installed 28 bulbs so far off 32 intended. One didn’t work at all. Seeking a refund.Definitely an improvement over the flourescent… if they last

Great replacement for fluorescentRecieved one bulb with metal back dented but does effect function. Easy to install with ballast bypass. Didn’t realize when purchasing that these are really meant for fixtures where the pins are horizontal. My fixture has pins vertical so the lights are pointed out to the sides. They are bright enough that this doesn’t matter too much. There is a slight delay when turning on.

Super Bright! Easy Install! Way brighter than 40w Flourescent!I replaced 4 fluorescent tubes in my garage, they flickered normally but it still drove me nuts. These lights are way brighter than the 40w fluorescents. It seems to fill the room better too. I have two 2 tube fixtures, I replaced the first one and turned them on to compare side by side and it was like the second fixture (old fluorescents) wasn’t even on.The install was straight forward and fast, included directions easy to follow. I had these installed in about 30 minutes for two dual tube fixtures(disassembling the fixture, removing ballast, rewiring). I am pretty handy with electrical work so if you are new it may take more time but still would say its a very simple and clear procedure.Overall this is an easy recommend, my partner stayed away from my garage workshop like a vampire from the sun because of the old lighting seeming so terrible. Shes happy to come in now and hang out while I waste time in there.
