Easy to install. Bright. 4″ led flush can style lights.Easy to install. Bright. Attached Junction box seems to have aluminum wires but are bigger and easier to wire than most led can lights. Just installed not sure on longevity. I pretested them before install.Would buy again. 4 ” flush can lights.

Everything good except reliability.Install is a breeze. Brightness great. Color as promised. I like everything about them except that I have had 3 fail out of 14 in about 2 years. The company replaced 2 and were great about it but not sure I want to keep changing them out. Attached picture shows failure mode. For the bad lights the brightness is about 30% for about 10 minutes then they flicker and come up to full brightness.

SUPER brightIf you are considering these for a major layout, buy two of them first and rig them up as a test. I bought a 3000k and a 2700k. They fill the space with light and are so incredibly bright that dimmers are mandatory. They claim to be 60 watt equivalent but seem twice as bright. They are not like a traditional recessed can fixture, where the bulb is recessed 6 inches above the ceiling surface. The LED’s are right on the surface of the ceiling so you get the full effect. I have actually changed my layout to use fewer lamps. For example, instead of 6 lamps in a 12 x 18 below-grade basement room with 7 foot ceilings and no windows, I will use 3 lamps down the middle. The 2700k is visibly “warmer”, barely noticeable but just enough to take some of the edge off of the bright white. I’ll use 2700k in seating and sleep areas, and the 3000k for general lighting. Have not yet tested them on one of the recommended dimmers or tried installing them in actual sheetrock. Only complaint so far is that the metal j-box is a bit tight for wiring. Quick connects would be nice. And the j-box is assembled with absurdly tiny screws. No idea about reliability or longevity, I have a hundred hours on them with no problems. They do not run hot. I plan to keep some replacements on hand.

Nice LightsProduct is easy to install. If you use a standard 4″ hole bit, which actually drills a 4 3/8″ hole, the electrical box fits within the hole. I have purchased the Sunco Cans and LED light inserts before. The light output and look seems the same. The only negative is the electrical box is made of really thin metal. I was actually bending the box when I tried to remove the electrical knockouts because the spot weld on knockout was stronger than the metal of the box. I wish I had the option to pay more for a box that comes on Sunco cans. As others have said, remember to use a connector for around the Romex wire. I used Halex, 3/8 in. Non-Metallic Push-In Connectors from Amazon. The 3/8″ is for the 1/2″ knockout. I also did not care for the wire nuts. Again I wish these lights came with the push in style electrical wago connectors like their cans do. I ended up using my own wago connectors and they worked fine. These lights are about half the price of installing traditional cans and light inserts. They are also a little easier to install I think.

Great… but…These are exactly as described, but I missed a key detail. The lights are not really recessed. The lens is more or less flush with the ceiling. If you were to use these overhead, that might be OK if you don’t mind the light being more defused to the sides than a typical can light. But in our application, we have a nook where the ceiling is only about 6′ and we mounted them there. The problem is that they are so diffused that when you sit across the room, it’s as if the lights are shining directly in your eyes- painful in fact.So you might consider whether it matters to you if the lights are recessed or not!

Great light for the moneyThese are relatively easy to install – just get a 4″ hole saw. You can theoretically wire them without access to the attic, but it will be much easier if you do. Note that even though they can be installed directly under a beam in the ceiling, there is one position where there isn’t enough room to put the tabs parallel to the beam and not enough room to fit a spring/tab between the beam and the edge of the hole. One of mine was in this orientation, and I had to take a Dremel with an endmill to cut away a bit of the beam to make room. Also, the tabs with the springs are not very strong – it is easy to break them, so I recommend buying a spare – they are cheap enough it isn’t a problem. One final note – while these are rated for insulation contact, I found they got hotter than I would like when covered, so I left the insulation off the top of them.

They are okay…Lights are okay but the plastic housing felt cheap and there wasn’t even a ground wire or screw on it. I had bought a 6 pack of similar lights that were 6 inch diameter that felt like a much higher quality then these…you get what you pay for. They work fine but just not sure they are going to be durable.
