How we got our start
From humble beginnings in the basement of David Swann’s family home in Melbourne, Australia the security camera business now has offices in the USA, Canada, Australia, UK, Hong Kong and China and a presence in over 40 countries on 6 continents.

Night Vision SoSoNight vision makes people look like Ghosts Moving. My 1080p Swann system looked better. The Day time video is Excellent. My big problem is the Condensation problem with the Cameras in cold weather, and the “PUSH” Notifications does not work, even after multiple loads of Security App, and checking all Recorder setups. Online Tech support was useless, when it came to a solution.

faulty camerasPurchased in January of 2021. Installation wasn’t until November 2021. Since installation I have had 3 cameras fail. The camera fails but the sensors still work. I’ve have now purchased 6 new replacement cameras since the failures. When working the cameras look great. I don’t connect it to my router as it eats up all the bandwidth which made surfing the internet on my laptop near impossible. Doesn’t have any kind of remote control except via a mobile app for your phone, but that would require the recorder to be connect to the internet. Which again eats up all the network bandwidth.

Cameras constantly stay frozen and it’ll last days unless system gets manually rebooted.I paid $1,700 for this and & $1,250 in installation in a two story home since they are wired. So far three of the Cameras freeze and do not work on the app, monitor etc unless manually turning it off/ rebooting. I contacted Amazon three weeks before return date window closed and I was told to take everything down and return and they’ll happily do an exchange. I told them these are wired throughout my whole home and there’s no way I can do that but that I’ll be more then happy to take off the camera itself only that do not work and return those and get replacements. They said I have to return it all and after back and forth of arguing as to why that’s not possible because I would spend thousands of dollars just to do that for a product they sent me that is not working. I was told they would submit an inquiry for a partial refund for the ones that do not work and to wait 24 hours for a response. After waiting the time given I received no update and I called in to know the update and I was told that was not even something they can do and I was lied to by an Amazon employee about that and basically said my return window closed and sorry for your bad luck. After explaining to them this has been an ongoing issue three weeks before that window closed and I have proof of it I was treated unprofessionally and they hung up on me. Save your money.

Would Not Recommend PurchasingPros- cameras made of metal, cameras have wide coverage, clear videoCons- intermittently shows video loss, had one camera since installed in December collect water in the lens distorting video (another camera is also looking a like it is gonna need to be replaced as well), Swann customer support just let’s the phone ring (good luck getting through), Homesafe View app is terrible since you have to keep opening and closing the app to get videos to load (this happens a lot), the app used up over 7 GB of mobile data in just 1 hour (from running in the background, I had closed the app) causing additional charges to my mobile data plan, app hasn’t been updated according to what it shows on google play since October of 2020, w/o a fully functional reliable app this is a problem for those who want to view security footage when out or at home and want an alert and quick view when motion is detected outside*This was the second Swann system I have purchased. The first was returned immediately due to not being able to get push notification via the app. This system seemed fine at first but has developed issues since it was purchased. I only purchased these because they were POE otherwise I would have purchased something else. I would highly recommend buying something else.

DVR Works GreatI have had my new DVR for about 3 weeks now and the 4k camera work great. I am pleased with it so far. I think they need to provide a higher end CAT cable but the unit work perfect so really can’t complain.The cameras have lights, sirens and mic that listen, so that is pretty nice feature when you need it.

Video not compatible Windows Media Player or FacebookNo tech support available for this issue. They say that is the way it is. You must download VLC player if you wish to view the videos. My last Swann DVR from ten years ago was compatible. Good luck sending your videos to the police. They will get all kinds of fun error messages. MP4 error is video height to short. AVI error either says failed to load or with Windows Media Player it says missing codec. How does Swann create a product that is not compatible with most used systems? I have spent so many hours working out bugs on this system with tech support. This specific issue they said it there is no fix to it. They consider it operational since VLC can play the movies. They don’t care if it can’t be played anywhere else. No more Swann products for me. Update: My monitor now blinks like a Christmas as it has to do constant refreshes for cam losing connection to network. Refreshing cams to default settings which IT recommended doesn’t work. Software from NVR and all Cams have been updated. This system never should have made it past Beta testing. Update: Still trying to get NVR to work properly. You have to wait on hold for an hour each time you call only for them to say it needs 2nd level support and they will call you back tomorrow. Issues are endless and never get fixed.

Swann View Security CamerasWe have only had our Swann View Security system for a couple weeks. It rained for the first time since having the cameras installed and we had 3 cameras that the picture were not visible on. The one came back into a clear view, however we still have 2 cameras that appear to have moisture behind the lens.
