VDE Cold Shock TestThe tools are first cooled down to -25 °C ( -13°F), then during this process, the insulating material must retain its toughness so that it does not break when subjected to impacts and jolts. |
VDE Voltage Piece TestOur tools are submerged in water for 24 hours. After this period they are then electrified with 10,000V AC for three minutes. Neither a spark over nor a disruptive discharge through the insulation may occur. If and when no current is detected, they are approved for up to 1,000 V AC (and 1,500 V DC) earning the VDE Certification. |
VDE Combustion TestWhen exposed to a flame for 10 seconds, the insulating material must not continue to burn, but instead extinguish. |

Love this setLove this set! Only minor quibbles: The smallest screwdriver in the lid portion of the case doesn’t stay in very well, and the very bottom tray is crappy cheap plastic instead of good blow molded stuff that the middle trays are made of. The bottom tray also doesn’t fit the tools properly, all the slots are slightly too small.It comes with some thin foam shipping pads that they recommend keeping between the top tray and the lid to prevent tools from falling out of their slots. I might make a replacement out of leather or something more durable.This set is worth every single penny, especially if you can find a $1k deal on it like I did (not from Amazon, but still brand new). These tools will last for a very long time.
