Working well thus farI’ve had a wine collection for some time, and have used a mix of wine refrigerators, 3rd party storage facilities and bespoke wine rooms in my house to store it. I’m in a place now where 3rd party options are limited and I only wanted a wine frig for a 1-2 year transition to my next place. This seemed to fit the bill, and I’ve been pleased with it thus far.Shipping/elivery – determined an arrival/delivery date when I ordered the unit, but received a note 36 hours before saying, “it’s in your area now…we need to deliver it tomorrow (early)…or we can’t tell when it might be slotted for arrival.” I work from home, so not a big deal, but could see how this would be super annoying for many highly scheduled folks. The delivery guys didn’t speak English.Condition on arrival – came on a palette and shrouded in cardboard and foam. A bit awkward for a single individual to get unboxed (though the manufacturer does state it’s a 2-man operation) but the product was unscathed and in excellent condition.Door adjustment/customer service – the door was a bit askew (slightly lower on the handle vs. the hinge end). Customer service was quick to respond to my query on adjusting it. Sent me a video on how to make the adjustment. And followed up. Unfortunately, there really is no apparent way I see to adjust the door and I would have appreciated the manufacturer simply stating that rather than taking me through a workflow that led to no joy.Operation – quite quiet. It sits near to my desk in my apartment and really isn’t noticeable. My main refrigerator (about 3-4x further away) makes far more noise. It’s been in operation now for a couple weeks so is in steady state – back-tested the temperature setting today and it seems to be within a couple degrees of the wine frig setting, so I’ll call that good enough.Capacity – lots of discussion about this on the review board. I was able to get in roughly 110 bottles – a mix consisting principally of red wine with ~3 cases of Burgundy and ~2 cases each of Bordeaux, Rhone, Italian & Spanish. I took out two shelves to provide extra room for the larger 750ml bottles, but was able to double stack those and so probably didn’t lose a tremendous amount of capacity to the shelf removal. Bigger issue for me is why the manufacturer didn’t add an extra 1/2″ or so of row height to the 12 shelves that are in there – it would have made sliding the shelves in and out so much easier and made it much easier to accommodate all but the largest bottles of Burgundy – would have only taken the height of the unit up by 6″, which then would be roughly the same as a normal refrigerator. Anyway, that would be my primary suggestion for a Version II update.Net-net, I’m pleased with the purchase and feel like it was a good value for the money compared to other wine refrigerators on the market.

Nice unit with OUTSTANDING customer serviceAs with most wine coolers, unless your collection is 100% Bordeaux-size bottles you won’t be able to get to max capacity but with nice oversized racks on top and bottom you can double-stack your fattest bottles (Pinot Noir, Chateauneuf-de-Pape, etc) in those spots and free up space in the middle (179-bottle model). If you have bottles with a long body or elongated shoulder like many Italian and American reds you won’t be able to fill up each rack fully but it still holds a lot of wine. I’ll be buying more Bordeaux!Unit was very well packaged on a small pallet, protected by foam on all sides. Looks nice and is basically silent operation. Not just quiet; I’m talking almost undetectable. Only had it a few days but temperature has stabilized well, fluctuating just a degree or two from my 55F setting. Don’t forget to let it stand for a day or two before you plug it in so the refrigerant settles; the most common reason for people complaining about a new wine cooler not working right. I waited 48 hours.A special hat tip to Velieta support: Since the unit has an integrated air filter with replacement recommended once a year, I went ahead and contacted support@velieta.com to see how (or even if) I could get some spares. “Tina” responded very quickly and placed an order for two spare filters FROM CHINA on August 12th, received in Austin Texas on August 16th – impressive shipping and they didn’t even charge me anything. Honestly one of the best overseas support transactions I’ve ever experienced and although I haven’t tested them with a technical problem I get the impression that they would be 100% responsive. Overall, highly recommended – would give six stars if I could.

Started Out Questionable, But Outstanding Customer Service Came ThroughOur unit arrived damaged. The vent on the bottom was bent in multiple places and the door hinges were bent to the point that the door didn’t seal properly. UPS clearly dropped the unit somewhere during shipping. I didn’t fully inspect the unit when it arrived which was my mistake. However, I contacted Velieta customer service about the issue and Tina was awesome. She sent a replacement vent and new hinges via FedEx and also gave me clear and specific instructions on how to complete the swap on the refrigerator. We have it installed in our newly remodeled kitchen and it looks and works great. No issues. Thank you Tina for your excellent service!

Keep your beer cold and fresh, Perfect for the Entertaining Home..I was really excited to get this beverage refrigerator and beer fridge. I was worried that it wouldn’t be big enough to hold all of my drinks, but it fits everything perfectly. It’s big enough to hold a lot of drinks, but not so big that it takes up a ton of space. It’s really well made and looks great. I was able to put it under my counter and it fits perfectly. The glass door is a great feature so you can see what’s inside without having to open it up and I love that it locks, it is also a great feature, especially if you have kids around. It’s really quiet and keeps my drinks nice and cold. I love that I can adjust the temperature to keep my drinks at the perfect temperature. Overall, This beverage fridge is really great! and I would highly recommend it to anyone!

Good wine fridge that keeps temperature well– 4.5 starsThis is a very nice wine fridge and it holds the temperature well. A lot of the reviews I read before purchasing this unit mentioned that pinot noir bottles do not fit well, which is very true and I did not foresee that being a huge issue since we do not store a ton of pinot noir bottles. However it is not just pinot noir bottles that do not fit well. I would say the 70% of our bottles do not fit well or are an extremely tight fit that make it near impossible to pull out the shelves. The bottles that fit best are your “standard” sauvignon blanc bottles. The shelves are removable but not adjustable. My recommendation would be to make the shelves adjustable (all you need on some of these bottles is 1/4 inch more space). The problem with simply removing shelves to make the wine fit is that you are losing a lot of capacity and creating a lot of empty space. At that point just buy a smaller fridge.
